The Hated

The Hated was coming from Annapolis, Maryland / USA band from the Washington hardcore punk environment, which is counted to the post-hardcore. The band goes with their style but also one of the first emocore bands.

History

The near Washington, D.C. Founded band was born in 1985. Actually, as a kind of parody of the more rock tendencies of the post-hardcore bands from the DC Thought hardcore environment, the band itself was a good example of an experimental end and rocking expectant post-hardcore or hardcore band.

1985 Mike Bonner leaves the band and is replaced by Kenny Hill. Colin Meeder little later by John Irvine. With this lineup, the group Like the Days and the LP What published what behind.

John Irvine leaves early 1987 the band. It is replaced by Jason Fisher, brother of band member Erik, and later by Colin Meeder, who rejoins the band.

In 1990, the group split up eventually. The former band members played or play in other bands on, such as Three Shades of Dirty, Slack, Liquorice or Ida.

Style

The style was similar frühenen post-hardcore bands, but especially of the early emo band Rites of Spring. Mid-tempo D.C. Hardcore with melodic guitars and emotional lyrics. The song already replaced in the band between rather rough hardcore punk usual Shouten / screaming, melodic songs and emotional cries.
