The Ides of March (Band)

The Ides Of March was an American rock band of the 1960s.

Band History

Members of the group visited together a school in Chicago, Illinois. In high school, they decided to form a band and named it after the play Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare The Ides of March ( German: The Ides of March). They played in small clubs and discos until 1966 received a record deal. The first single " You Would not Listen" reached number 42 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the second single " Rollercoaster " could be placed on the rear seats of the Hot 100. 1970 the band had their greatest success with the composed by Jim Peterik, entitled " Vehicle". This reached # 2 on the Billboard charts and # 31 in the UK. Although the band arrive with the titles Superman and LA Goodbye 1970 and 1971 two more minor hits in the United States, other publications after 1971, however, remained commercially unsuccessful, after which the band broke up.

The mid-1970s Peterik tried unsuccessfully the group to regroup, after which in 1978 the rock band Survivor founded. In 1990 he returned to The Ides of March and has since emerged more albums.
