The Internationale Hegel-Gesellschaft

The International Hegel -Gesellschaft eV, established in Berlin is the oldest association dedicated to the Hegelian philosophy. It emerged as a " German Hegel Society " in 1953 from the existing since 1946 Hegelianum in Nuremberg; In 1958 she gave up its current name. The Company has the objective " to maintain the spiritual legacy of Hegel, to explore the philosophy of Hegel in their historical development and in its manifold relations to the preceding and succeeding theories critically and present to work out the actual meaning of Hegel and the Hegelian thought, and especially those with the name of Hegel's dialectical method closely linked in all its manifestations and in its application to investigate scientifically and retrain. Personalities of the International Hegel Society were, and are, inter alia, Wilhelm Raimund Beyer (Chairman until 1982, then honorary Chairman), Heinz Kimmerle, Rudolf W. Meyer and Wolfgang Lefèvre ( directors from 1982) and Andreas Arndt (CEO since 1992). According to information it has about 300 members worldwide.
