The Invisible Man is an American series of 1975, which removed on the novel " The Invisible Man" by HG Wells is based. Due to lack of audience it was discontinued after only 13 episodes, although the special effects were very advanced for its time. The pilot was shortened for the eve broadcast on ARD by 21 minutes from 70 to 49 minutes and thus to a normal episode of a series.

Action

Dr. Daniel Westin is a gifted scientist who has managed to invent a means that can make objects and animals invisible. He must realize that the government wants to use his invention for military purposes. He decides to keep the formula secret. He characterizes the formula that destroyed them including his laboratory and flees invisible. But it may not be visible again due to unfortunate circumstances. Doctor Maggio, a friend and plastic surgeon who helps him by equipping him with a mask and gloves DermaPlex and a wig to hide Westin's invisibility.

Otherwise, just know his wife Kate Daniels attempts. She helps him in search of a cure.

After the pilot changed the concept of the series. Now came a laboratory manager Walter Carlson behind Daniels mystery. On his behalf, Daniel and Kate now edit cases where Westin invisibility gives him a definite advantage. They become a kind of secret agent.

In the pilot episode Westin is shown as a tragic figure (similar to Wells' novel), a victim of invisibility. For the series this was considered to be too cumbersome, so this was created with more humor.

DVD / Blu -ray releases

The series " The Invisible Man" was published in 2013 as a DVD or Blu -ray edition. As a special offer both publications which so far has never shown on German television original episodes six and twelve, in a completely new German dubbed version. Also, here is the first time the pilot " experiment with consequences " can be seen in its uncut original version.
