Action

The film is about a one-week jaunt on the yacht of movie producer Clinton Green ( James Coburn ) in the Mediterranean. The participants are well known. A year ago, they have seen the last time, when Clinton's wife Sheila was run over at night, followed by a hit and run and died. Clinton held with its six guests a kind of search game that he calls the Sheila - Memory Game: Everyone gets a card with a role: among other alcoholics, Little Children - seducer, shoplifter and ex-prisoner. The own role cards must be kept secret. At every single evening is Clinton known what role this time uncover. Who finds out, gets a point. If the role holder himself discovered the reference to his identity, the game for this evening is finished. The notes are hidden at the places on land, where the yacht is present in each. Clinton also contends that the male and female players would need to basically not to move and look for clues when they " would be smart enough " (in the original: " If you're smart enough" ).

During one evening Clinton is murdered. Everything points to one of the female guests, and actually commits suicide under a heavy load on board the yacht. Shortly thereafter, however, one of the players drops to an absurdity, and in manner of a great detective, he solves the mystery.
