The Lemon Pipers

The Lemon Pipers were an American psychedelic band of the 1960s.

Founded they were initially under the name Ivan & the Sabres in Cincinnati / Ohio, USA. Their first single was released in 1967 and was a flop, but already the second disc Green Tambourine, the song was written by Paul Leka and Shelley Pinz and produced by Paul Leka, was a million-seller and Evergreen. The single reached # 1 on the U.S. singles charts in the UK and # 7 in the German singles chart top spot 10

After that, the band released four more singles, but were in no country in the top 40. Given this lack of success, the band fell apart afterwards.
