The Little Vampire (film)

The family film The Little Vampire from 2000 is a co-production between Germany, the Netherlands and the USA. The film adaptation was released by the The Little Vampire books by Angela Sommer - floor castle. The film was " particularly valuable" awarded the title.

Action

The nine- year-old Tony Thompson has to pull with his parents from the American city of San Diego in a small Scottish village. Since his arrival in Scotland, Tony is constantly plagued by nightmares: He dreams almost every night by a vampire meeting at which an amulet with a gem plays a major role. And Tony is also dreaming of a cruel vampire hunter who blows this meeting and ensures that the vampires lose the gem. The gemstone falls off a cliff and a vampire jumps afterwards - and this is exactly where Tony wakes up again and again.

The fact that Tony tells openly of his vampire dreams, he finds no friends in his new school. Tony's father Bob works for the Scottish Lord McAshton and to create a new golf course for those on whose land. On the way home Tony Rüdiger tells his tale of woe, which he has been running since arriving in Scotland. So they decide to seek out the young lords McAshtons. In the nursery Rüdiger threatens the two, forcing them to promise, Tony now as their Lord and Master to recognize and serve him. After Tony and Rüdiger's father Louis in the tomb had a common vision on the next evening, in which appears a Scottish Coat of Arms, Tony offers to find out more about this coat of arms. The McAshtons Tony finds out by accident that Rüdiger Wenzel uncle, who had his time trying to save the gem had been devious on the Scottish coast. And there he had made a young noblewoman, Lady Elisabeth McAshton the vampire, which eventually turns out to be an ancestor of the present Lord McAshton. Tony finally tucked the vampire family in the basement of his house, as the cemetery and the tomb have become unsafe. Anna comes shortly before sunrise in Tony's room and gives him a magic dead mouse: If Tony ever get into trouble, so he only had to whistle and she would help him.

Vulture Meier and Lord McAshton also seek the tomb of Lady Elizabeth, and Tony followed the two. In the crypt of the McAshtons Tony falls foolishly in both hands, which now imprison him in the tomb. Tony and Rüdiger now try to find the gem, while Anna goes to the cliffs, where her brother Lumpy has started with the call.

Also, Rüdiger parents make their way, when they noticed how Tony's parents worry that this has not yet come home: ring the bell and invite Tony's parents, Bob and Helga, one to look at the comet with them.

In the meantime, Rüdiger and Tony have arrived home, where they find the gem in Tony's room after a short search and be surprised by vultures Meier. This kidnapped Tony decided shortly and Rüdiger shortly thereafter, begins his rescue mission. Tony is in the meantime succeeded in the gem against the dead mouse (which he got from Anna ) to exchange, and flies with Rüdiger finally to the cliffs. However, during the meeting vultures Meier can again disturb the vampires and they also dissolve almost as if he a scuffle begins with Ludwig and Tony's parents, vultures Meier of Tony's parents is beaten horribly. A few weeks later, Tony is with his parents on the market. Then he sees that an old empty house is reupholstered, and hardly believe his eyes: Before the entrance are Rüdiger and Anna, who indeed are now mortal again. Joyfully he runs up to her, but she did not recognize him; since Tony began, softly whistling and slowly reverses the memory of the former vampire children back. Roger Ebert criticized the " rogerebert.com " that the film contained too many storylines.
