The Matches

The Matches (formerly The Locals ) are a founded in Oakland, California in 1997 Pop-Punk/Alternative rock band.

History

The matches will be established in 1997 as The Locals and play scale term punk. In the following years, the music gradually shifts to alternative rock. As influences Elvis Costello, David Bowie, The Who and Joe Jackson are mentioned. An indie rock band from Chicago of the same name calling, because of mutually growing popularity, The Locals on to change their name, so that they can rename it to The Matches.

The Matches increase their local visibility by sonicate free the waiting visitors in front of large concert halls. They also regularly host the sogennnaten L3 shows ( Live, Loud & Local ), in which they left supporten a nationally known several local bands.

In 2003, she published and self-distributed album from E. Dahl Killed the Locals, whose title ironically alludes to the name change, called himself the singer of the other band E. Dahl. Shortly after, they are discovered by Brett Gurewitz and taken for his label Epitaph Records. Their debut album is re-released in 2004 with a slightly different tracklist. 2004 and 2005 tours with bands such as The Matches Lit, Yellowcard, Matchbook Romance, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, MxPx, Motion City Soundtrack and 44 in Europe and the United States.

2006, the second album Decomposer is published. The thirteen tracks were edited out of 9 producers, including well-known rock stars like Tim Armstrong ( Rancid ), Mark Hoppus ( 44, blink-182 ), John Feldmann ( Goldfinger ), Brett Gurewitz ( Bad Religion ) and Nick Hexum (311 ). The album sounds more experimental and diverse than their first album.

On 17 March 2008 her latest album A band appeared in Hope.
