Action

The married Jessie Sullivan has since the death of her father, a poor relationship with their religiously dedicated mother Nelle. One day, she learns that Nelle is mutilated herself, she has chopped off a finger. Sullivan travels to her hometown to care for her mother, Nelle. There she meets the friar Thomas know in which she falls in love. She also learns the truth about her past.
