The Millennium Bell

The Millennium Bell is a music album by the British musician Mike Oldfield from 1999, which reminds her of the title and the cover of earlier works of the series Tubular Bells.

Unlike most albums of Oldfield The Millennium Bell is waiting with a big orchestra, the London Handel Choir and a Gospel Choir on. Gota Yashiki, who had also played for Simply Red, has several guest appearances on the album. Many pieces are ( in contrast to the almost entirely instrumental Tubular Bells albums ) sung or spoken; the album sees itself as a musical journey through the last two millennia.

Oldfield led the album live on New Year's Eve 1999 in Berlin at the Victory Column on. In addition to seven pieces from The Millennium Bell, he also played five older pieces. As a vocalist Miriam Stockley and worked among others with Pepsi DeMacque. Films are extravagantly staged the light show type was in Heaven with about 550 stage lights and 250 missiles.
