The Minutes

The Minutes are an Irish rock band from Dublin.

Band History

The cousins ​​Mark Austin (guitar / vocals) and Shane Kinsella (drums) had been playing together in early youth. The band The Minutes arose when in 2006 bassist Tom Cosgrave joined the band. One first played small concerts in Dublin and the surrounding area. This was followed by support shows for, among others, Mona, Supergrass, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and The Von Bondies. In 2008, the band released the single harmonic, which lands at number 36 of the Irish charts. 2010 The Minutes played at the South by Southwest eleven concerts.

2011 the debut album Marcata, named after the New York studio where it was recorded with producer Kevin McMahon ( The Walkmen, Titus Andronicus ). As guests took part in James Felice ( Felice Brothers ), John Goodmanson and Rocky O'Reilly. The album reached number 16 on the charts in Ireland. In 2011 she played as the opening act for Flogging Molly Speed ​​of Darkness on their tour. 2012 was followed by an independent European tour.
