Background

The Miracle Woman was the second turned to the Ladies of Leisure of a total of five films with Frank Capra Barbara Stanwyck. The script contained a very daring for its time portrayal of false preachers who roamed particularly in the Midwest and enriched themselves at the expense of the faithful. The main character 's sister Fallon was therefore also designed uniquely according to the known evangelist Aimee Simple MacPherson.

Stanwyck interpreted the character as a young woman who is deeply religious, but whose talents are exploited by unscrupulous traders and reversed. Bob Hornsby says cynically to the young Florence:

The actors were forced to play the scenes in the lion's cage without double.

Prevented the provocative theme that the film was a huge commercial success.
