The Mission (band)

The Mission ( Mission UK in the United States ) is a British rock band.

Band History

The Mission was founded by Wayne Hussey and Craig Adams, formerly members of the band The Sisters of Mercy, which they had left after a dispute with singer Andrew Eldritch. First they toured under the name The Sisterhood. This name, however, was claimed by Eldritch, whereupon the band "The Mission" and called it quickly managed with the following panels to build on the success of The Sisters of Mercy.

After some changes the band's success subsided. The collaboration did not work, and the record sales were declining. 1996 The Mission was disbanded due to lack of success.

In 1999, the band reunited and embarked on a world tour, with concerts including in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, USA, South Africa, Greece ( 2000).

In 2001, she published one of her most successful albums, AurA. It held eight weeks at No. 1 in the German Alternative Charts. A short time later, in 2002 Aural Delight; This album was among other things a cover of the song Never Let Me Down Again by Depeche Mode. The Mission toured Germany, then in 2002, six weeks through Europe, then South America, Europe later. In October 2007, Wayne Hussey announced the re- end of the band. After a farewell tour of Europe in February 2008, he wants to move on to other projects.
