The Motors

The engine was a British rock band of the late 1970s. It was founded in London in 1976.

After the dissolution of the band Ducks Deluxe, the two musicians Nick Garvey founded (vocals, guitar ) and Andy McMaster (bass guitar) in 1976 together with singer and guitarist Bram Tchaikovsky and drummer Ricky Slaughter the band The Motors.

In 1977, under the title of engine 1, the debut album of the band. The first single from the album, Dancing The Night Away, reached number 42 on the UK Singles Charts.

Your international breakthrough was achieved in 1978 with the album The engine Approved By The Motors. The first single from the Airport reached the UK's Top 10 charts, and was in Germany a hit.

Following this success, Tchaikovsky and Slaughter parted from the band. Garvey and McMaster published together a third album of the engine, but could not build on the success of the first two albums. In 1982, the band was finally dissolved.
