The Movie Network

The Movie Network ( TMN ) is a Canadian, English-language pay- TV channel headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and is operated by Astral Media. The Movie Network includes five TV channels on which movies different genres will be sent. The coverage area of the transmitter comprises the province of Ontario to the provincial boundary of Manitoba. Furthermore, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia.

History

In 1976, the then Minister of Communications, Jeanne Sauvé announced the establishment of a pay-TV for Canada. During the seventies, when the premium television was slowly introduced through HBO levels and the resulting television station WTBS throughout North America, these stations were received in rural areas only via satellite. Therefore, these people demanded an extension of the technique to facilitate receptivity. The provincial government of Saskatchewan co-founded the company Cable Regina a Provincial Pay- TV Network, the tele Theatre in 1979.
