The story revolves around the unfortunate fate of Mathilde Loisel, a very pretty, but born in a humble young woman who is looking for a ball a diamond necklace from a rich friend ( Madame Forestier ) borrows and loses this during the event. Together with her husband, a civil servant, she decides to zusammenzuleihen money from friends and replace the jewelry.
