History

The Storyline

It was alleged that the nWo came from outside to take over WCW. Scott Hall was the one who first appeared and docked with the former commentator Eric Bischoff. As his assistant, he presented a short time later Kevin Nash. It should give the impression that it would amount to a confrontation between the two leagues WCW and WWF.

In the big event Bash at the Beach on July 7, 1996 Nash and Hall played one match against Lex Luger, Randy Savage and Sting. After Luger was injured, according to storyline, Hulk Hogan appeared and attacked Savage, which he revealed himself as an ally of Nash and Hall. In the ensuing speech Hogan broke with the fans and called out the New World Order of wrestling.

Hogan was from then on Heel, a role that he had not stood for since the early eighties. The storyline changed the previous picture of wrestling, as in the following years more and more gimmicks disappeared and background policy was publicly discussed.

At Fall Brawl in 1996 allowed the nWo win a match against the WCW team and added gradually more prominent members, like Ted DiBiase, Sean Waltman and The Giant added. Later, officials were as WCW boss Eric Bischoff and referee Nick Patrick members of the Stables. Randy Savage was initially taken to the main opponent of the group, but this occurred in 1997 also included.

The Split

As interest in the storyline from the fans began to decline, it was decided in 1998, the separation of the nWo into two camps: Hogan continued to lead the "original" nWo while Nash called a new black-and- red -clad version to life, which was called Wolfpac. At the latter version now also included Sting, which for years was the flagship of the WCW. Also at this time, but fell gradually the ratings of WCW shows, because the nWo feud against Hogan nWo Wolfpac could not meet the expectations.

Renewed merger

On 4 January 1999 it was concluded the grouping together again, this time completely under red logo. In the main event of Nitro Kevin Nash hit on the returned to WCW Hulk Hogan, Nash after a finger joint ( " finger poke of doom " ) defeated. This was very badly received by viewers and middle of the year the group was disbanded again in this form.

NWo Black and White

In addition to the nWo main group, there was always the way the "B - team ". This was finally from 1999 as a separate grouping go. This consisted of wrestlers the lower to mid fight card, which usually had feuds with each other around the position of the leader. After the dissolution of the new Wolfpacs mid '99 Also, the B- team disbanded.

The end of the nWo

In the middle of 1999, the nWo was officially disbanded and came back again in 2000. The remaining members were Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Bret Hart. In addition there were Jeff Jarrett, the Harris boys and some of the WCW girls who were now as valets to the nWo. But the success of the past, it did not come, the storyline had lost their appeal; with this end also the demise of WCW was connected.

The nWo in WWE

With the purchase of WCW by WWE CEO Vince McMahon on 23 March 2001 these acquired a u the rights to the use of former WCW Names and Trademarks, as well as the nWo. After Nash, Hogan and Hall ( which was already released in 2000 by the WCW ) who received contracts with the WWF in early 2002 came to the rumor, McMahon wanted to revive the nWo new. In the big event No Way Out on February 17, 2002, the nWo was actually officially introduced in its original cast in the WWE. It was developed during this, Stable wanted to destroy the WWE a storyline.

After Hogan had received at Wrestlemania X8 in the match against The Rock positive reaction from the fans, to the nWo let him leave. In exchange, extended the grouping by X -Pac and Big Show, who were already at the WCW nWo members. After Hall was fired in May by the WWE, was allowed Booker T and Shawn Michaels join the Stable; Michael was there the first ( and only) nWo member who was never in WCW under contract.

According scripts Triple H should encounter on July 21 next to nWo member at the event Vengeance 2002, but Nash pulled in a tag team match on July 8, an injury and was sidelined for several months. This was not only burst the planned storyline, but made the responsible also aware that there would be no long-term development of the nWo by removing or eliminating their signboards Hall and Nash. On 15 July 2002 Vince McMahon announced on Monday Night Raw, Stable therefore resolved.
