The Night Before Christmas (1941 film)

Christmas Eve is an American animated short film directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera from the year 1941.

Action

The day before Christmas. The house is festively decorated, the presents are under the Christmas tree and mouse Jerry finds her mouse hole with a piece of cheese in a mousetrap loop. Jerry is interested in but much more for the numerous packaged gifts, licking a candy cane, rocks on a small rocking chair and jumping around on a fabric lions, this makes noise. Another furry ground on which Jerry and lands on which he jumps around, turns out to be Tom Cat, and the two rivals now pursue across the gifts collection. While kissing Tom the mouse when the hiding under the mistletoe, but in the end Jerry escapes through the mail slot of the door, the Tom then barricaded.

The cat shakes his pillow up in front of the fireplace and want to sleep. However, the bad conscience to Jerry outdoors einschneit slowly in the cold, it does not come to rest. Christmas Eve was the third Tom and Jerry animated film by Hanna and Barbera, and appeared as part of the MGM cartoon series Tom and Jerry. The film was released in theaters on December 6, 1941.

In the film, various Christmas carols can be heard, including Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls and Silent Night, Holy Night.

Awards

Christmas Eve 1942 for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film " nomination, but could not prevail against the heartless savior himself.
