The Patchwork Girl of Oz
Dorothy and the Patchwork Girl ( would be incorrect: The Patchwork Girl of Oz) is a children's book of the American writer Lyman Frank Baum. The story was published in 1913 under the original title The Patchwork Girl of Oz with illustrations by John R. Neill. It is the seventh volume of the Oz - cycle, which was one of the most popular children's books in the U.S. and moved partly in German language.
Action
Ojo lives with his uncle Nunkie in the forest, far from any settlement. Ojo, who has never seen the world, dreams of travel to these. One day he visited with Uncle Nunkie the neighbors, the crooked magician Doctor PIPT. This has continuous stirring, new life powder just finished, after six years, although it is now forbidden to perform magic in Oz without permission of Ozma of Oz. With the powder he wants a girl who has been sewn from a colorful patchwork quilt, bring to life. The Patchwork Girl to help his wife Margolotte in the household. Originally tree had wanted to end the Oz series with the belt Dorothy in the Emerald City. But numerous letters from children caused him soon change his mind. After some years of pause, he began to think of new Oz stories. After a hiatus of several years, three short stories (which in the same year with three other short stories published in an extra band) and then again the longer history only appeared around the funny Patchwork Girl fetzi. To explain this sequel plausible, he sat on the novel preceded by a preface in which he explained how it thanks to wireless telegraphy, he managed to get in touch with Dorothy again.
Continuity errors
For the first time the reader encounters in the plot, an old friend of the Tin Woodman, who had known this from the time when he was made of flesh and blood. Again, this tells us that he only therefore mutilated himself because he is too careless to deal with his ax.
