The Pearl (Arabic اللؤلؤة al - Lu'lu'a, DMG al -Lu ʾ lu ʾ a, the pearl ') is a 400 -hectare artificial island 330 meters off the east coast in the Emirate of Qatar. The heavily indented island is conveniently located 20 kilometers north of Doha and emerging airport about 11 kilometers northeast from the capital Doha.

The island and its infrastructure was built by the Cypriot construction company J & P. Located in construction are high quality villas on the beaches, town houses and larger apartment buildings in the three centers, some luxury hotels, as well as schools, kindergartens, a row of shops, a shopping mall, other shops and numerous restaurants, mosques, for a total of 30,000 people. Models for the builders on the artificial island are typical buildings of Tuscany, Provence, Catalonia and Andalusia. In addition, four marinas are built for several hundred yachts.

The project is called marketing-oriented as "The Riviera Arabia". It has a large central bay with island and two smaller bays around the following quarters on: Porto Arabia, Viva Bahriyah, Costa Malaz, Isola Dana, The Quarter, La Plage Villas and Villas Bahri. As a special nine little affiliated with a road satellite islands for development with very large villas and a private marina are offered in the east of the island, giving " The Pearl " a particularly exclusive character.

Since it is hardly expected that the Qataris will buy even on " The Pearl " to a greater extent, it relies on wealthy buyers mainly from Saudi Arabia and other Gulf neighboring countries. The decision is made easier Officially for the acquisition: Foreigners get in Qatar, unlike, say, in Dubai, a legally valid title deeds with full property rights for part ownership in the common living facilities.

The development of the islands began in late 2006 and early 2009, about half of the large buildings ready for occupancy, the more marketing mainly of detached houses is likely to stretch due to the financial crisis by 2014.
