The Private Life of Henry VIII is a British feature film from the year 1933.

Action

The film is set at the court of King Henry VIII and begins with the execution of Henry's wife Anne Boleyn. Right after the preparations begin to Henry third wedding. Jane Seymour is the new love interest of the king of England, but he has been interested in for the young Katharine Howard. A little later, Jane gives birth to the king, the long-awaited son. Delighted, but the king must take note that Jane died in childbirth. Quick, however, the court returns over daily business. Henry is still interested in the young Katharine Howard, but Archbishop Thomas Cranmer advises a political marriage. His proposal is Anne of Cleves. But the king is skeptical and sends the painter Thomas Peynell to Germany in order to make a picture of Anna. Peynell travels to Germany and falls in love with Anna, who is also inclined towards him. But Anna will have to marry the King of England.

Although Heinrich is with Anna just before the marriage, he also provides after the young Katharine, in which, however, Thomas Culpeper is in love. When Henry asks them at night to himself and expresses his love for her, it is contrary to the king, for he had already with Anna a woman. As Henry comes out of his promise to Anna out now?

The Private Life of Henry VIII is the second film in a trilogy by Alexander Korda. The first film was made in 1927 as The Private Life of Helen of Troy. The third part was called The Private Life of Don Juan and was built in 1934 with Douglas Fairbanks Sr. as Don Juan.
