The Public Pays is an American crime film from 1936, which was published as a short film. The screenplay is based on a novel by the screenwriter John C. Higgins.

Action

The scammer Moran and his cronies set up the Creamery Betterment Association. Force you to join the operators of dairies of society in order to control the market for dairy products. The bottle of milk will cost three cents, one cent of which will go to the company. Moran wants to ensure that the entire three cents be transferred to the Company. The producers who do not want to join, so put under enormous pressure that they see no other option than to join.

The higher price has an impact on the buyer. Some can not afford the product. One of the producers, who has so far successfully fought against the Company is Mr. Paige. Now Moran takes the family of the dairy owner as leverage to target. In order to act, the police need solid evidence. It convinces Paige to continue to withstand the pressure, so that evidence against Moran can be collected.
