The Racer (Kings Island)

The Racer at Kings Iceland (Kings Mills, Ohio, USA) is a double wooden roller coaster manufacturer Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters, which was opened in 1972.

When the railway was opened in Coney Mall theme of the park, fanned Racer on a roller coaster renaissance and a return of the wooden roller coasters. The Racer is credited with the beginning of the second golden age of roller coasters.

It has two tracks mirror-image built. By 1982, the trains ran forward on both tracks, then the train to one of the two tracks always drove backward, while the other train went forward.

The Racer is one of four wooden coasters in the park, next to The Beast, Son of Beast and Fairly Odd Coaster.

Don Helbig holds 12,000 rides the record for the most trips to Racer.

On 18 May 2007, the railway was awarded Coaster Landmark Award from the American Coaster Enthusiasts.

The Racer has four trains with five cars. In each carriage six people ( three rows of two people) take place. Passengers must be at least 1.20 m tall to ride allowed.
