The Redskins

The Redskins were a British band of the 1980s. The band consisted of Chris Dean (vocals / guitar), under the name X -Moore he was still working as a writer for the NME; Nick King ( drums) and Martin Hewes ( bass / vocals ).

All three band members were left skinheads, with Chris Dean and Martin Hewes members of the Trotskyist Socialist Workers Party were to Tony Cliff. The precursor band the Redskins were the No Swastikas ( No swastikas ). Established were the Redskins in 1982, their first single came out in July 1982 and was named Lev Bronstein (birth name of Leon Trotsky ). After that followed many other singles, compilations and LP Neither Washington Nor Moscow.

Were still in the Oi! Punk the first works of the Redskins, it was with the purpose coming of the brass section (consisting of Kevin Robinson ( trumpet), Trevor Edwards ( trombone) and Ray Carless (tenor saxophone ) from the Redskins one of the most famous British Northern Soul combos of the 80s. Their third single, Keep On Keeping on ( this was the first for the Decca label) was a Supporter single for the striking miners.

In addition to support for the striking miners they were still active in the anti -apartheid movement and in the Red Wedge movement, which had the downfall of Margaret Thatcher to the destination.
