The Ridiculous Wishes

The foolish desires ( original French title: Les Souhaits ridicules ) is a fairy tale by Charles Perrault. It appeared in verse 1693, then 1695 provided together with Griselda and donkey skin with a new preface, and later in prose with his other tales in the Contes de ma Mère l' Oye collection.

A poor old woodcutter complains, it might be fulfilled no desire in life. Jupiter will give him three, he should only good think about what will make him happy and satisfied. The Woodcutter woman points out how clever they would proceed. With wine and warm fire he accidentally wishes a mile long blood sausage that crawls like a snake the same cause. The woman is startled and scolds him his stupidity and the lost riches until he wishes the sausage on her nose in anger. He is still reflecting to do with the last wish of the king, but she prefers to be beautiful again. The narrator concludes, ordinary people could not take advantage of the sky gifts.
