The Right

La Destra ( Eng.: The rights ) is a company incorporated on 14 July 2007 right-wing nationalist Italian party that has split off from the National Alliance (AN). At times, it is also characterized as rather extreme.

History

In the parliamentary elections of 2008, La Destra concluded with the neo-fascist Fiamma Tricolore together into a List and Daniela Santanchè as a top candidate on. Storace, who was President of the Lazio Region from 2000 to 2005, ran for the simultaneous elections for the office of mayor of Rome. Berlusconi's coalition on which the new lineup sees itself in competition, La Destra did not want to assist in the formation of a government after official announcements even with a narrow election victory of the right. However, the party failed at 2.4% in elections to the Chamber of Deputies and 2.1% in the Senate elections due to the restrictive clauses (4 and 8 %) of the catchment in both chambers and thereby lost its influence and importance. In 2009, she scored in the European elections in an alliance with the parties Partito Pensionati (PP), Movimento per le autonomy ( MpA ) and National Alliance di Centro ( AdC) is 2.2 percent and thus lost her seat in Parliament.

Ideology

On the initiative of its chairman Francesco Storace, the party is trying to create a new political space for the intended merger of AT with Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia to the Popolo della Libertà ( PdL ), a clear reference to politics and culture of the neo-fascist right. Already by the name that translates to "The Rights" means the political position of the party is described. La Destra refers to the old trinity of God, country and family.
