The Rolling Stones, Now! is the third studio album released in the U.S. by the Rolling Stones. It was published by London Records on February 13, 1965. With the exception of Mona ( I Need You Baby ), taken on January 3, 1964, the songs were written in the period June to November 1964.

Music content

The album contains seven songs from the second album of the band, The Rolling Stones No. 2, published January 15, 1965 in the UK, as well as some songs that would be included on the British version of the next album by the Stones, the Out of Our Heads, published on 24 September 1965. Also on the compilation of the single Little Red Rooster, in England a No. 1 hit.

The Rolling Stones, Now! follows the proven concept of The Rolling Stones, the highly successful debut album from 1964, the song material consists of eight rhythm-and - blues cover versions and four original compositions, which has the potential, the ambitions and self-confidence now gained the young songwriter duo Mick Jagger and Keith Richards show.

The front of the album cover shows nine black-and- white portrait photographs of British photographer David Bailey, on which the five band members are shown. A printed on the back of the case a cynical statement of Andrew Loog Oldham band manager caused outrage in the press: Oldham recommends giving rob a blind man by lack of money to buy the album can. The band distanced itself from Oldham's statement.

The Rolling Stones, Now! considered to be very coherent and stylistically closed album and as the best pure American release of the band. The album reached number five in the U.S. charts, where it was able to hold for 29 weeks. The American music magazine Rolling Stone performs The Rolling Stones, Now! ranked 181 of its list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
