The San Francisco Examiner

The San Francisco Examiner is a U.S. daily newspaper in San Francisco, California, which appears there since 1865.

Initially called the newspaper The Daily Examiner. William Randolph Hearst took over the paper in 1887 by his father, George Hearst, and gave it its present name. Hearst Junior increased the circulation of the Examiner significantly, not least because he managed major authors such as Ambrose Bierce, Mark Twain and Jack London to win for the sheet. Then there was a strong dose of tabloid journalism. In addition, Hearst gave the Examiner a graphic score by strengthening sat illustrations, cartoons and comics.

2000 took over Ted Catch the Examiner from the Hearst Corporation. Since then, numerous sites are in the sheet removed and been reduced print size. 2004 Philip Anschutz bought the newspaper with the corresponding print. Since then, the Examiner is distributed as a free newspaper.
