The Scream (band)

The Scream was one that emerged from the U.S. group Angora hard rock band who in 1991 recorded their only released album.

Band History

Angora

A native of Philadelphia singer and guitarist John Corabi founded in his hometown together with Jimmy Marchiano (guitar), bassist Frank Scimeca and drummer Robert Iezzi group Angora. The band moved to Los Angeles and later the group was able to record a song in the Rocksteady Studios in Hollywood, which was produced by Rob Cavallo. The song, Shake, Shake, appeared on a report issued by the radio station in Los Angeles KNAC compilation CD titled Son Of Pure rock. Angora appeared at that time frequently on the opening act for bands like Racer X or Shark Iceland. However, the group broke up, Jimmy Marchiano went back to Philadelphia, and Corabi, Scimeca and Iezzi remained in Los Angeles.

The Scream

Corabi learned to have alighted at Racer X guitarist Bruce Bouillet know and founded with him and two other ex-members of the band, John Alderete and Scott Travis, the group Saints or Sinners. They got a record deal, but before you start recording Travis left the band because he got the offer to play Judas Priest. He was replaced by Walt Woodward III, who had previously played with the band Shark Iceland, then the group the members appointed to and called themselves The Scream.

The band recorded their debut album, Let It Scream, which was released on the label Hollywood Records, on under the direction of music producer Eddie Kramer. The album was released in 1991, as a single I Believe in Me was released. 1992, the group released the song Young and Dumb on the soundtrack to the movie " Encino Man" ( German title: " Encino Man "). This title was produced by John Alderete, Bruce Bouillet and GGGarth and been recorded at Studio City Sound. The soundtrack album also contained the title Your're Invited ( But Your Friend Can not Come ) by Vince Neil.

On 14 February 1992 John Corabi received a call from Nikki Sixx, the bassist of Mötley Crüe. This told him that Vince Neil had left the band and the Crüe would need a new singer. He took Sixx ' invitation to the casting at, played on 17 and 18 February 1992, and got the job as a singer of Mötley Crüe.

As a replacement for the remaining group members Corabi of The Scream committed the singer Bill Fogarty. The band recorded another album ( Takin 'it to The Next Level ), which was not published, because Hollywood Records terminated the contract.

In 1996, the tribute album Spacewalk was - A Salute to Ace Frehley and Kiss published: The CD contained a cover version of the song New York Groove, which was added by The Scream members Bill Fogarty, Bruce Bouillet and John Alderete using a drum loops had been.

Walt Woodward III died on 8 June 2010 from the effects of alcohol poisoning.
