The Shoe People

Adventure in Shoetown ( Original title: The Shoe People) is a British animated television series that was produced from 1987 to 1988.

Action

The scene is Shoe Town, a city which, as the name implies, is inhabited by a wide variety of shoes variety. Every night when the storage room of the cobbler, in which the shoes are at home, is closed by the shoemaker, the inhabitants come to life and experience an amusing and instructive adventure in their city.

Creator of the series is James Driscoll. The idea came to him when he noticed that shoes reveal a great deal about the personality of its owner. Now, Driscoll asked what they would tell stories for shoes, if they could talk.

Characters

P. C. Boot is the policeman of the city. He loves to explain things, which he the other, however, very bored. He lisps slightly.

Charlie is a clown. He loves to make other people laugh and is always up for a joke. Charlie often has good ideas with which he can help his friends.

Trampy is an old shoe with a hole. He loves to rest and to enjoy his garden. Trampy lives in an old house and is Margot, a ballet shoe, love.

Sergeant Major is a senior shoe that believes to be still in the Army. He puts emphasis on discipline and order and often screams very loud. Sergeant Major is Trampys neighbor and gets more with him in battle. He also holds seemingly not much of Charlie, the clown, but always comes to the circus performances. He does not like it when they call him " Sarge".

Wellington is a shoe with a passion for water. He even has holes in his house, which is inundated to his delight in the rain by. Wellington does not like to be called " Welly ".

Synchronization

In the original, all the characters and the narrator of Philip Whitchurch are spoken. In the German version of Hans Paetsch took over this role.
