The Silencers (band)

The Silencers is a Scottish rock band that was formed in 1986 in London. Their music is characterized by a melodic mix of pop, folk music and traditional Celtic influences.

Career

The Silencers are often compared with other Scottish bands with a similar style. Examples include Big Country, Del Amitri and The Proclaimers.

Their first single, "Painted Moon" was a small international success. At times, you even compared it with the Simple Minds and U2.

In 1987 she published her first album A Letter From St. Paul, the relatively successful Painted Moon and another hit titled I See Red included. Bulletproof Heart from the third album Dance to the Holy Man is her biggest success to date.

In the 90s, The Silencers went to the trend and moved from their old style grunge and electronic music. They continued to release albums, but could hardly build on their previous successes.
