The Sowetan

The Sowetan is an English-language, South African newspaper that was founded in 1981 as the voice of the struggle against apartheid in the township of Soweto (Johannesburg, Gauteng ) and was distributed free to the black population. To date, the newspaper is very respected for their past. Politically close to the newspaper the African National Congress.
