The Spectator

The Spectator is a weekly British magazine for politics and culture based in London. It is published since 1828 and is the oldest existing magazine in English. The Spectator is considered a " reference sheet conservative intellectuals " and focuses on precise analyzes, controversial content and an original and elegant style.

The magazine is as much as the conservative newspaper The Daily Telegraph and the art magazine Apollo Press Holdings by David and Frederick Barclay. Publisher since 2009, Fraser Nelson, who has worked for The Scotsman and The Times. Among his predecessors were Iain Macleod, Nigel Lawson and Boris Johnson, all politicians of the Conservative Party.

In addition to the usual reports and essays on politics, economics, art, music and books, there are regular supplements to food and drink, travel and luxury goods. Since 2008, an Australian edition also is misplaced.

On the homepage of the Spectator are, inter alia, politics blog Coffee House and an online store operated. In addition, the Spectator debates, conferences, readings, concerts and museum tours organized.
