The Spirit of Christmas (short film)

The Spirit of Christmas is the name of two short films by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who later building on the television series South Park created.

Jesus vs. Frosty

1992 tinkered Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who were still students at the University of Colorado, the first part of The Spirit of Christmas named Jesus Vs. Frosty. For the film, they were just paper, glue and a very old 8 mm camera. Premiere of the short strip was in December 1992 when a student film screening.

The film shows how the children build a snowman. As one of the kids tried to put on the snowman a hat, it is warned by a front. The other child still puts his hat on and the snowman comes to life and kills first the character Cartman, which was then known as Kenny. Then one of the kids yells the phrase " Oh my god, Frosty killed Kenny " (Eng. " Oh my God, Frosty has killed Kenny "), which later in modified form, "Oh my god, they killed Kenny " (Eng. " Oh my God, they killed Kenny " ) to the running gag of the series South Park was.

In her panic, the children escape, meet Santa Claus and tell him what has happened. Just as they are finished, it turns out that Santa Claus in fact Frosty is in disguise, whereupon this figure, which is known in the series as Kenny kills. Re on the run, they meet Jesus, the challenge is defeated and Frosty.

Jesus vs. Santa

1995 got Trey Parker and Matt Stone of a high employee of the U.S. radio station FOX 2000 U.S. dollars to a video on the nature of Jesus Vs. To produce Frosty, he could send as a Christmas card. This second film contained improved versions of the later South Park characters Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman, and an early version of Wendy Testa burger.

The film is about a dispute between Jesus and Santa Claus to the question of what is more important to Christmas - the birth of Jesus or gifts - then fight the two. Just at the right moment Brian Boitano appears and explains to them that Jesus needs Santa to remember his birth and that Santa needs Jesus, because without him there would be no Christmas.
