The Stars and Stripes Forever

The American military march Stars and Stripes Forever (German title: "Under the Star-Spangled Banner " ) was composed in 1896 by John Philip Sousa. There is an original recording with the composer as conductor.

He was declared on 11 December 1987 by U.S. President Ronald Reagan on decision of the Congress to the American National march. Also among the civilian population of the world has the march of a great reputation. In Germany it is among other things by promoting the cleaner "The General " and the drinking song We drink the foamy beer ( The Besoffskis 3 ) are known.

In American vaudeville and circuses this piece will never be played in regular operation, as it is used as a sign for the alert personnel if an evacuation is necessary.
