The Swan Princess

The Swan Princess (Original Title: The Swan Princess ) is an American animated film from 1994, loosely based on Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake. It is about the princess Odette, who is transformed by the evil sorcerer Rothbart into a swan and can change back only by moonlight into a human.

The film was continued with The Swan Princess 2 The Secret of the Castle and The Swan Princess 3 and the Enchanted Kingdom. He was nominated for the 1995 Golden Globe Award for Best Song, and for the Annie Award for Best Animated Film.

Action

The Princess Odette, whose father King William reigns over a powerful kingdom, is born. William and Queen Ubertha from another kingdom decide later to marry Odette and Prince Derek Uberthas son to unite the kingdoms.

As children, Odette and Derek can not stand, but when pre- Grown they fall in love. However, doubts Odette whether Derek she loves not only for their beauty. Meanwhile, Odette and her father during her trip home be invaded by carriage from the sorcerer Rothbart, who transforms into a dragon kidnaps Odette. The film was produced in 1994 Animation Studios, directed by Richard Rich by the companies Nest Family Entertainment and Rich. The music was composed by Lex de Azevedo and screenwriters Richard Rich and Brian Nissen.

On 18 November 1994, the film arrived in American cinemas. Followed in 1995 premieres in Europe, East Asia and Argentina. Germany premiere was on February 1, 1996. Turner Home Entertainment released the film on VHS in 1995 worldwide, more publications in the U.S. followed by New Line Home Video and later at Columbia TriStar Home Video.
