Formation

The Tokyo Showdown was recorded in November 2000 during the Japan tour by In Flames Clayman to the album at the show in Tokyo. In its presentation of Scorn, they built a small cover of Raining Blood, one of the most famous songs of the thrash metal band Slayer, a. However, only a piece of the album The Jester Race was played in 1995.

Reception

On Laut.de wrote Michael Edele, though played In Flames live very well, but with this live album smell " it hard by post to the hilt ." Was William York of Allmusic that The Tokyo Showdown give a good impression, why In Flames would find such a wide acceptance among the metal fans. He called the sound " clear and balanced for a live performance ." The album is not entirely essential, he recommended it but fans of the band.
