The Trap Door

The trapdoor ( engl. The Trap Door) is a children's series with Knetmännchen, which first appeared in Britain in 1984. It was launched by Terry Brain and Charlie Mills. There emerged two seasons with a total of 40 episodes. Each episode comprised about 5 minutes. All character voices were dubbed the English original by Willie Rushton. The theme song has been composed by Bob Heatlie. In Germany it was aired on Super RTL. Protagonist is Berk, the servant of the "essence from above."

Characters

  • Berk, servant of the "essence from above." He is a blue roundish creature and loves to cook exotic dishes in his kitchen, should not even a monster from the trapdoor come to donate to disaster.
  • Bonuses, Berk 's best friend. He is a persuasive skull ( hence the name " boney " ) who spends most of his time in a booth in the main hall of the castle.
  • Trudi (English Drutt ), Berk 's house spider. They often produces enough trouble when they chase after worms. From about half of the 40 episodes gets Trudi 4 pink baby.
  • The essence of top ( engl. The Thing Upstairs ), lord of the manor, which rarely leaves his room. He always has something to do for Berk, which usually means that Berk have to cook him food.
  • Trapdoor monster: Rogg, a large pink creature. He is not intelligent, but like Berk and helps him in many tricky situations.
  • Bubo, a mysterious little yellow creature who can make himself invisible. He is one of the adversaries Berks.

Action

Berk, Boni and Trudi live in a castle in a " dark and sinister place where no one goes ." Berk is the servant of the "essence from above." In almost every episode something comes out of the trap door in the hallway of the basement. Often it appears a friendly creature that Berk helps repel the Creature from the trap door in the trap door.

Video Games

1986 published the games The Trap Door, and shortly thereafter the successor Through The Trap Door for the ZX Spectrum, the Amstrad CPC and Commodore 64
