The Tymes

The Tymes were an American soul vocal group, which were quite successful in their home as well as in Britain in the 1960s to the 1970s.

Band History

The group was founded in 1956 in Philadelphia as Latineers. Lead singer and head of the group was George Williams ( born December 6, 1935 as George Reginald Williams Jr. in Philadelphia, † 28 July 2004), the other members were often replaced. Their first single So Much in Love was number 1 in the U.S. immediately. After two more hits in 1963, Wonderful! Wonderful! and Somewhere, followed by a relatively unsuccessful period, before the group suddenly appeared in the UK in 1975 and also took there with the piece Ms. Grace Place 1.

In 2006, three of the original members tried to activate the group again.
