Action
The 12 -year-old Allie lives with her family in Los Angeles, California. Although it is just before Christmas, prevails in the city summer weather. As Allie and her friend Sam ( Samantha ) take a shortcut through the woods on the way home from school, they are tools, like an old man throws a strange device in the trash. Out of curiosity, Allie puts the instrument against the will of Sam to his home.
There, Allie discovers that the device can change the weather. After a test run in which Allie devastated her room with a thunderstorm and an earthquake, it represents the device in their flower box to bring about a snow storm. Allie hopes that as their school is closed and it does not leave as an overdue homework. In fact, falls into the following night, so much snow that almost all schools have to be closed. But the storm surprised not only the residents but also Santa Claus, who had built this weather machine and now trying this retrieve with the help of two elves. The unsuccessful weather presenter Edwin senses a sensation and wants to save his career with this storm.
The storm and the machine develop under his own life. The storm is ultimately so strong that even San Francisco is paralyzed and Allies father thus can not be home in time for Christmas. Allie and Sam try to paralyze the machine, where they are surprised by Santa Claus and his elves. Santa tells them that he has found it, because Allie is on the list of bad girls and that he is the only one who can stop the machine. But Edwin, who has found out that the storm has its origin in Allie's house, finds the machine and makes up with this from the dust, to immediately make the weather itself and thus to achieve absolute success.
Santa Claus, however, can stop with Allies and Sam's help Edwin in a candy factory and get back the machine. When he repaired the machine, he explains Allie, why had he built them and how they can manage to get back on the list of good girls. Finally, the machine goes back to normal and the storm ceases. On the following day, Christmas Day, Allie takes on ' Christmas Cactus ' a message from Santa. When she opens it, her father arrives. , Happy that the family is back together, Allie refers to this as the ultimate Christmas gift.
