The Voice of Germany (season 1)
The first season of the German singing talent show The Voice of Germany was broadcast on 24 November 2011 to 10 February 2012 at the television, with six episodes at ProSieben and eleven episodes at Sat.1 were seen. Moderated the first season of Stefan Gödde and backstage by Doris Golpashin. The jury consisted of the pop musician Nena, the soul singer Xavier Naidoo, the singer and guitarist Rea Garvey and the duo Alec Voelkel and Sascha Vollmer of the band The BossHoss. The winner of the first season was Ivy Quainoo with her song Do You Like What You See.
First phase: The Blind Auditions
The auditions for the first season took place in June and July 2011, but were not shown on television. Approximately 150 of the singers - more than three quarters of them with stage experience - were invited to the blind auditions. These were the end of August and beginning of September 2011 recorded in Berlin and broadcast in six television shows from 24 November to 9 December 2011. The jury selected 64 candidates in the second phase, in which Nena and Rea Garvey with 16, The BossHoss 15 and Xavier Naidoo moved in with 17 candidates.
The seven candidates Pamela Falcon, Charles Simmons, Max Giesing, Kim Sanders, Mic Donet, Elen Wendt and Stefan Zielasko received all four jury votes. Of these seven, four opted for Xavier Naidoo, Rea Garvey for two and one for Nena as a coach.
Second phase: The Battle Round
The Battle Round was recorded in September 2011 in Berlin and broadcast in TV shows from 15 to 23 December 2011.
The coaches prepared the participants together with advisors from their musical environment prior to the vocal duels. Nena was supported by a music producer and keyboardist Derek von Krogh, Rea Garvey of the singer-songwriter Nerina Pallot, The BossHoss music producer and songwriter Jan Löchel, Xavier Naidoo music producer and songwriter Michael Herberger.
In Rea Garvey Nena and group eight one-on -one duels with one winner took place. In the groups with an odd number of participants also each have a three-way battle took place next to the duels. So had the fifteen participants from BossHoss six one-on -one battles and a three-way battle, came forth from the two candidates. From the seventeen candidates from Xavier Naidoo group seven winners of one-on -one duels, and an additional winners were determined from a three-way battle.
Each coach chose his remaining eight candidates for the first five live shows from. The remaining three participants wore in a " sing- off" again in front of her song from the blind auditions. Subsequently the relevant Coach certain the sixth live show participants in his group.
Third stage: Live Shows
The seven live shows took place from January 5 to February 10, 2012 in Berlin, the first shipment of ProSieben and the other six programs were transferred from Sat.1. In the first and third live show both the candidates by Xavier Naidoo as well as those of The BossHoss occurred. In the second and fourth live show singing the candidates as well as those of Nena Rea Garvey. In the first two live shows two of the six participants dropped out of each coaches. In the third and fourth transfer another candidate per group left the show. Over the next two rounds each another participant dropped out of each coaches, so that for the final on February 10, a candidate qualified from each of the four coaching groups.
Results Table
First and second Live Show
The first two live shows took place on 5 and 6 January 2012. Four of the six candidates each group came on. Two of them were determined by televoting and two others subsequently designated by the respective coach.
At the beginning of the first show came on all coaches together with the song 99 Luftballons the band Nena. During the matching phase Xavier Naidoo sang with its six candidates his song I know nothing (which is as beautiful as you ). Then the band Snow Patrol submitted their song This Is not Everything You Are.
At the beginning of the second show Rea Garvey sang with its six candidates his song Can not Stand the Silence. During the matching phase, the Söhne Mannheims wore before her latest song for you. For musical finale of the show Nena sang with her six candidates the song Kill Your Heroes Awolnation the band.
Third and Fourth Live Show
The third and fourth live show took place on 13 and 20 January 2012. Of the four candidates of each group were three each in the next round. Two of them were chosen by televoting, between the two remaining decided the respective coach.
At the beginning of the third show singing The BossHoss with their four candidates the song Word Up! Cameo. During the show, James Morrison wore along with Xavier Naidoo four candidates be up -to-date song before.
The fourth live show opened Nena Rea Garvey and eight remaining candidates with a medley of the songs Get the Party Started by P! Nk and Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera. During the broadcast, The BossHoss Do not Gimme That presented their single.
Fifth Live Show
The fifth live show took place on 27 January 2012. Two of the three candidates each group came to the next round. One of them were chosen by televoting, between the other two chose the respective coach. Taio Cruz opened the show together with the twelve remaining contestants with his single Troublemaker. During the broadcast, Rea Garvey argued his single Colour Me In.
Semifinal
The sixth live show, the semi-finals took place on February 3, 2012. Each participant made her first appearance with a song, to whose composition he himself was involved. In addition, singing - as in the Battle Round - the candidates duo each group a song as a duet. The four finalists certain together the respective coaches and the crowd: Every Coach told points to 100 between its two candidates, regardless of the two candidates received their televoting percent result as points. The participant with the highest total points in the finals.

Final
The seventh live show, the finale was held on 10 February 2012. In 2011, it was announced that the television viewers of the four finalists to determine the winner by televoting. Aftereffect
Of the four finalists only Ivy Quainoo was then represented in the charts. Even the retired in the semifinals Mic Donet brought an album in the charts. Six months after the end of the season gathered Xavier Naidoo 14 members of his coaching group for the project Sing for your life. On October 11, 2012, moderated by Naidoo TV show aired with the project to kick off the second season. From 18 October to 14 December 2012 was broadcast the second season of The Voice of Germany with the same coaches as in the first season.
Ratings
On average 4.16 million viewers watched the first season of The Voice of Germany on ProSieben and Sat.1, the market share of the total audience was 13.4 percent. In the target group of 14 - to 49 -year-olds saw an average of 2.96 million viewers to, corresponding to a market share of 24.3 percent.
