The Voice of Germany (season 3)

The third season of the singing talent show The Voice of Germany was broadcast October 17, 2013 to December 20, 2013. As the second season she was moderated by Thore Schölermann and backstage by Doris Golpashin. The jury consisted of the pop singer Nena, the duo Alec Voelkel and Sascha Vollmer of the country band The BossHoss, the rapper and music producer Max Herre as well as songwriter, guitarist and singer Samu Haber. The winner was Andreas going.

First phase: The Blind Auditions

The auditions for the third season took place from April to June 2013, but were not shown on television. The blind auditions were recorded from 21 to 24 July 2013 Studio Adlershof in Berlin and broadcast in six television broadcasts from 17 October to 1 November 2013. The jury selected 71 candidates in the second phase in the Samu Haber, Nena and The BossHoss with 18 and Max Herre moved in with 17 candidates.

All four jury votes received the candidate Nico Gomez, Dolo Lee, Andreas going, Catherine Schoofs, Thorunn Egilsdottir, Katja Aujesky, David Whitley, Annika Kron, Aalijah Tabatha Hahnemann, Jazz Akkar and Holger Brokmann. Of these, eleven chose five for Max Herre, three for The BossHoss, Nena and two for one for Samu Haber as a coach.

Second phase: The Battle Round

The Battle Round was recorded on 30 and August 31, 2013 in Berlin and broadcast in TV shows from the 7th to the 15th of November 2013. The coaches prepared the participants together with advisors from their musical environment prior to the vocal duels. As in the first two seasons of The BossHoss were supported by music producer and songwriter January Löchel, Nena by music producer and keyboardist Derek von Krogh; Nena also was advised by guitarist John Andrews. Max Herre was supported by rapper and singer Sékou, Samu Haber of music producer and songwriter Brix.

In the groups of Samu Haber, Nena and The BossHoss the 18 candidates clashed in six one-on -one duels and two triple battles; in the comprehensive group of 17 candidates Max Herre held seven one-on -one duels and a triple battle. For each one-on -one duel between the respective Coach certain one of the two candidates who came directly to the next stage; from each of three battle came two of the three candidates spur. Unlike in the first two seasons was also the losing candidate of Battles come to the next stage, namely when it took over one of the other coaches. If it wanted to do more than one of the other coaches, the candidate chose one of them to his new coach. Samu Haber, Nena and The BossHoss about each took two candidates from other coaches, Max Herre did this three times. This went all four coaching groups, each with twelve participants in the next phase.

Third phase: The Showdown

The newly introduced third phase, called the showdown, was recorded in mid-September 2013 in Berlin and broadcast in three television programs from 21 to 28 November 2013. Each of the 48 remaining participants prepared a self-selected song, then decided each coach, compete which two of its candidates with their song talk against each other. After the presentation of both candidates, the coach chose one of them for the live show - phase, in which all four coaches moved in with six participants.

Fourth stage: The Live Shows

The four live shows took place from November 29 to December 20, 2013 in Berlin. In the first two live shows of 12 of the remaining 24 participants occurred: Three candidates of the same coaches contributed successively to a song which would give the coach 50, 30 and 20 points on the three participants had to distribute. Regardless of the three candidates received their televoting percent result as points. From each of the eight three fights of the participants came up with the highest points total in the semi-finals. The four semi-final duels contributed from each of two candidates of different coaches. The finals came two proteges of Samu Haber, one of Max Herre, one of The BossHoss and none of Nena.

First Live Show

In the first live show on November 29, 2013 in each case one of three candidates occurring each group came on.

At the beginning of the show Ivy Quainoo sang along with twelve live show participants their song Atomic. Nena led her song Just Like you 're worried along with their six candidates. Finally wore Samu Haber band Sunrise Avenue in front of their song Lifesaver.

Second Live Show

In the second live show on December 6, 2013 each one of three candidates occurring each group came on.

At the beginning of the show, the Blue Man Group sang along with the twelve Live Show participants the Lady Gaga song Applause. The band OneRepublic wore along with the twelve candidates from their song Counting Stars. Nick Howard sang along with Judith van Hel, Debbie Schippers, Tiana Kruskic and Andreas going his song Untouchable. The BossHoss led to their current song Do It.

Semifinal

In the semi-final on December 13, 2013, two candidates of different coaches competed against each other. The four vocal duels were exclusively decided by the votes of the audience. Since the four winners were now no longer determined within each group, no coach had a final place safe. Finally, the two candidates by Nena dropped out, however, both participants of Samu Haber reached the final.

All eight semi-finalists had taken its own, newly composed song before the show. After each of the four duels, the respective winner sang his song live on the show. The studio recordings of all eight songs, including those of four non- featured live were offered after the end of the program in the download stores to purchase.

At the beginning of the show Katy Perry sang along with peer judges, Chris Schummert, Debbie Schippers and Caro Trischler their song Unconditionally. Later Perry wore before their current hit Dark Horse. Michael Bublé sang along with the other four semifinalists his song After All. Max Herre led by Dena Joy Lane and gentleman on the songs ANNA and Tabula Rasa.

Final

The fourth live show, the finale was held on 20 December 2013. As in the first two seasons the winner was determined by a combination of number of song downloads and televoting results. Presented in the semifinals own songs of the four finalists were available in the iTunes Store and other portals for paid download. For each of the four finalists included a download sold until December 19, 2013 as much as two televoting votes on the final evening.

In the final show each finalist wore before his own song, also sang a duet with his coach and another duet with a guest artist. Andreas going sang together with Rebecca Ferguson, Chris Schummert with James Blunt, Judith van Hel with Tom Odell and Debbie Schippers with Ellie Goulding. The most downloaded before the final show had going Andreas, after completion of the televoting, he also had the highest total score.

Ratings

On average 3.67 million viewers watched the third season of The Voice of Germany on ProSieben and Sat.1, the market share of the total audience was 12.2 percent. In the target group of 14 - to 49 -year-olds saw an average of about 2.33 million viewers, representing a market share of 20.7 percent.
