The Voice of Germany [ də vɔɪs əv dʒɜ mənɪ ː ] (English for The Voice of Germany ) is a German singing talent show, which is broadcast by the TV stations ProSieben and Sat.1 since November 2011. It is based on the talent show The Voice concept, which was first implemented in late 2010 in the Netherlands under the title The Voice of Holland. The German edition is produced by Talpa and Schwartzkopff TV Productions. The first season won Ivy Quainoo on 10 February 2012, the second Nick Howard on December 14, 2012, the third going Andreas on 20 December 2013.

Concept

Approximately 150 participants will be invited for the first phase of the television show, called Blind Auditions. There must the candidates, accompanied by a live band to sing on a stage before an audience. The jury members, the singer or the singer initially only hear but not see them because they're sitting in a swivel chair with his back to the stage. You can vote for a candidate by himself during his presentation to turn to him, to see him. The candidate comes to the next round if he gets at least one of the four jury votes. Among those jury members who have turned around for him, the candidate chooses his coach for the further rounds. In the blind auditions each of the four coaches to get a group of sixteen candidates.

It follows a week of training, in which the coaches prepare their candidates called to the Battle Round second phase. In the Battle Round two candidates of the same coaching group sing a song in a duet. Only one of the two candidates is further decision of the respective coaches. Since the third season (2013 ), a candidate who was not chosen by his own coach, will be taken over by a so-called leaders of the transmission Steal Deal from one of the other coaches.

In the last phase, the live shows, contact the candidates within their coaching groups against each other and be evaluated by both the coaches and by the television viewers. Representatives of different coaches only meet in the finals or, since Season 3, each other in the semifinals. In the final, only to decide the viewers about the victory.

First Season (2011-2012)

The first season of the show was broadcast on 24 November 2011 to 10 February 2012 at the television. Moderated the first season of Stefan Gödde and backstage by Doris Golpashin. Second Season (2012 )

From 18 October to 14 December 2012, the second season of The Voice of Germany was broadcast. The four coaches has remained the same as in the first season, will host the second season of Thore Schölermann. The winner of the second season was Nick Howard with his song Unbreakable.

Third Season (2013 )

The third season of The Voice of Germany was aired from 17 October to December 20, 2013 on television. The jury sat alongside the existing coaches Nena and the duo of The BossHoss the first time the rapper and music producer Max Herre and the songwriter, singer and guitarist Samu Haber. The third season was again moderated by Thore Schölermann and backstage by Doris Golpashin. The winner of the third season was Andrew going with his song Simple Man.

Fourth Season (2014)

Prior to broadcast the finale of the third season, the ProSiebenSat.1 Media announced a fourth season for autumn 2014. On March 18, 2014 Alec Voelkel and Sascha Vollmer announced by The BossHoss that they are no longer available as coaches available. Five days later, Nena announced her exit from the show. On April 3, 2014 Samu Haber announced on Facebook that he will be watching in the fourth season.

The Voice Kids

On October 25, 2012 Sat.1 announced that the kid version of 'The Voice Kids " (acronym: TVK ) can produce from Talpa and Schwartzkopff TV Productions. It is based on the size of the original and focuses on children aged between eight and 14 years. The jury consists of the singer- songwriters Lena Meyer- Landrut and Tim Bendzko and the rock musician Henning Wehland. The winner of the Talent contest will receive a training scholarship and prize money. The main gate leads moderation Schölermann, along with the backstage presenter of Aline Drateln.

From April 5 to May 10, 2013 the show was broadcast on Fridays at 20:15 clock Sat.1. Winner of the finale is Michèle.

The second season, in which Tim Bendzko was replaced by Johannes Strate of gunslinger in the jury, launched on 21 March 2014.

Reception

Criticism

In the media, the talent show met in part on critical voices. In the selection of candidates will prefiltered so striking sow many candidates attractive or mitbrächten moving stories.

The record low audience ratings of total audience (2.72 million viewers and 9.7 percent ) and the target demographic (1.63 million viewers and 16.6 percent) reached the semifinals of the third season on December 13, 2013 in Sat.1.
