The Voorman Problem

The Voorman Problem ( German " The Voorman Problem" ) is a 13 -minute British short film production company Honlodge Productions in association with Pipedream Pictures ( UK) from 2012. Directed by Mark Goll, who wrote the screenplay jointly with Baldwin Li. The film is a partial adaptation of the novel by David Mitchell number9dream. Producer Lee Thomas can also shoot a whole movie to the book. The Voorman Problem was nominated for the Oscar 2014 in the category " Best Short Film ". Previously, he had been nominated for the British Academy Film Awards 2013. The main characters are Martin Freeman and Tom Hollander.

Action

Dr. Williams is appointed by the Governor Bentley as a prison psychologist, since the "War in the East" a shortage of doctors has resulted. Dr. William is informed of the problem Voorman; at Voorman is a prison inmate who is sure of himself that he is God, and brought the other inmates to worship him all day singing. It remains unclear why Voorman is in prison.

Dr. Williams calls for the guards and Voorman leaves the room with the remark that the call would have no benefit. As Voorman Dr. Williams is leaving, he advises him to " keep an eye on North Korea to have ."

At the end of the film Voorman leaves the room under increasingly loud chants of fellow prisoners.

Background

The film was first shown on 22 September 2012 at the Calgary International Film Festival in Calgary, Canada. The first publication in the United States took place at the Newport Beach Film Festival in Newport Beach, California on April 22, 2013.
