The Wanderer (1994 TV series)

The power of the sword is a German - Spanish English - fantasy television series that was filmed in England in 1994 and first aired in Germany in 1997. It deals with the adventures of two immortal brothers ( lead actor Bryan Brown in a dual role ), one of which dominate the world, the other wants to save her other hand.

Action

Towards the end of the first millennium, the twin brothers Adam and Zachary are born. Their appearance is identical in every way, but the two are not similar in nature in the least. When they finally grow up, each of them receives a magical stone, embedded in the hilt of a sword. These stones have an extraordinary power that reveals the soul of that which possesses it.

In the present, Adam, who lives in a Nobel villa near Salzburg and has worked as a businessman escapes, just barely a mysterious assassination and gesundet inexplicably. Slowly, Adam becomes aware of his mission and his past. He begins to realize that he is none other than the born-again restless knights, called the " Wanderer"; an immortal hero who is chosen to help people in need. Adam also knows that he has a mortal enemy: his own brother Zachary, for he was able to defeat this in the Middle Ages, but this has now returned together with the mysterious Beatrice, to take revenge and to acquire world domination.

On his way across Germany, England and Spain Adam is accompanied by the monk Gobold which stood him in earlier life to the side. Even the beautiful Clare knows Adam nor from his past. For his personal assistant Wolfgang Mathias, who really only wanted a good job at a respected businessman, the new circumstances, however, are inexplicable.

Background

The power of the sword was produced as an international co-production by Yorkshire Television, the German ZDF and the Spanish channel Antena 3. The transverse pulling through these countries act is completed within the existing thirteen episodes, each tells a self-contained story, past are disclosed in each case, other aspects of Adams and Zachary.

The German author Wolfgang Holbein wrote the screenplay based on the first episode of the novel The Wanderer - rebirth.
