The Wilderness Society (Australia)

The Wilderness Society ( TWS) is an Australian non-profit organization that has set itself the goal to protect the natural wilderness of Australia to maintain or restore. It is an organization that is not set to the contents of a political party.

History

The Wilderness Society evolved from the organization The Tasmanian Wilderness Society, organized the protests against the planned dams in the State Hydro-Electric Commission (HEC ) in Tasmania in the early 1970s.
