The Wiseguys was a British electronica and hip- hop band.

History

The band The Wiseguys ( from the English wise guy for alls or cleverness Meier ) was founded in 1994 by Theo Keating aka DJ Touché, together with Paul Eve aka DJ shelf. Keating is in England a successful producer of underground and electronic music and coined the big beat scene.

Keating and Eve produced since 1990 and jointly published in 1994, the EP Ladies Say Ow! . In 1996 their first album Executive Suite. Eve left the band in 1997 to pursue his solo career.

Keating published in 1998 the second Wiseguys album, The Antidote, which included the two known songs Ooh La La and Start the Commotion. International success the band had in particular with the two songs Start the Commotion and Ooh La La, which were recorded in international commercials to musical accompaniment. With the decoupling Ooh La La succeeded in 1999, the breakthrough # 2 in the UK singles chart.

In 2001, the band broke up and the last remaining until Keating he dedicated himself to house music under Fatboy Slim's Southern Fried record label
