The Wombats

The Wombats is an alternative rock band from Liverpool, England. The band was founded in 2003 by Dan Haggis (drums), Matthew " Murph " Murphy (vocals, guitar) and Tord Øverland - Knudsen ( bass).

History

Haggis, Murphy and Øverland met in 2003 at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, where they became friends and decided to form a band. 2006 their debut single Lost in the Post / Party in a Forest ( Where's Laura ) was released. The band also an EP names Girls, Boys and Marsupials, which, however, was only available in Japan published. 2007 The Wombats published her first album for the international market called The Wombats Proudly Present: A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation. This was followed by their first European tour. In 2008, the band played at many concerts and festivals such as the famous Glastonbury Festival, or the frequency. In the same year, the single Is This Christmas appeared? followed by My Circuit Board City. Their second album, The Wombats Proudly Present: This Modern Glitch was released on April 25, 2011.

Style

The Wombats playing energetic indie rock that sounds most like Maxïmo Park, Arctic Monkeys, Weezer or Pigeon Detectives. They were influenced by bands like Foo Fighters, Interpol and Radiohead.
