The World/Inferno Friendship Society
The World / Inferno Friendship Society ( also World Inferno ) is a punk rock collective from Brooklyn, New York. Founded in 1996, it combines punk rock, klezmer and jazz. The group had been more than 30 members, only the singer Jack Terricloth remained throughout the band's history. The performances often include improvised longer comments on politics and current events as well as interaction with the audience and the spontaneous fulfillment of Music wishes. The texts of World Inferno often deal with historical or biographical issues such as the Weimar Republic, Peter Lorre, Paul Robeson or Jeffrey Lee Pierce.
