Theater am Dom

The Theater am Dom Cologne is a light comedy.

It was in 1952 from the West German theater room three years earlier, founded by actor Hubertus Durek forth. Durek, who was both namesake and first director, first staged mainly contemporary drama, such as Jean Cocteau and Peter Handke. Only when he from Cologne Cultural Minister received on 29 October 1964, solid house for the Theater am Dom in " Swiss Ladenstadt " (bell lane 11), the alignment was shifted to the boulevard theater. That day opened the theater with Peter Ustinov Comedy final sprint. Despite popular successes it became only a commercial success for the theater, than in 1976 Barbara Heinersdorff and Inge Durek took the lead of the stage. Since 1973, the Theater am Dom is a non-profit. The theater can accommodate 376 spectators. Barbara Heiner Dorffs son René Heinersdorff (known from the RTL series The camper ) there is now active as an actor, writer and director.

Among the actors who have appeared at the Theater am Dom include Kerstin de Ahna, Julia Biedermann, Grit Boettcher, Herbert Boetticher, Volker Brandt, Jochen Busse, Jenny Elvers, Thomas Fritsch, Gunther Philipp, Günter Pfitzmann, Charles Regnier, Barbara Nice, Martin bread rye bread rye with his son Dustin, Karsten bacon, Wolfgang Spier and Susanne Uhlen.
